Alexander McBride - Mary Armstrong Family Bible

A Wreath of Human Hair, approx 1 3/4" in
diameter with a blue ribbon tied into a bow
was found located at:
-- I Chronicles * Chap 11 Ver 3 - Chap 13 Ver 7
The Author is assuming the Wreath of Hair
is that of the Mother - Mary (Polly) Armstrong

It was Tradition for people to put a Wreath made
of Hair from the Mother in the Family Bible.

What a nice Tradition - perhaps still true today.

As stated previously, It is unknown why these
items were placed where they still remain.
This, of course, can not be confirmed.
Truly, Only God knows for sure.

Hello Everybody!

If any one could help me with some more information on James Armstrong Of Australia.

. James Armstrong, son of Alexander A. Armstrong and Jean Cunningham, was born in 1810 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died on March 21, 1867 in Greigs Flat near Pambula, NSW at age 57. James and Elizabeth came to Australia as Bounty Immigrants arriving on the "Formosa" on 20 May 1839. The Commercial Journal reported that the Formosa arrived "from Liverpool via the Cape of Good Hope, same day, left the 18th January, and the latter 2nd April, the ship Formosa , 535 tons, Captain Alexander Adams, with 250 Emigrants under the Surgeon-Supertendence Dunca n Campbell, Esq."

• He immigrated on January 18, 1839 to Australia, on board the vessel "Formosa".

Thank you !

Update - After seeing Jill Stepp Johnston's post, I had a renewed interest in looking at my Armstrong line.  I had a strong suspicion that there would be a match.  I reviewed documentation and was able to determine that my Charles F.G.'s father was George Troop Armstrong, brother to Jill's Charles Ansley Armstrong.  George Troop Armstrong is a son of Francis Armstrong.

My earliest known Armstrong ancestor was Charles Francis Gray Armstrong, possibly born Boston c. 1871, who married Flora Mae MacNelly (McNelly/McNally) in Weymouth, Nova Scotia 28 February 1894.  They had sons George Wallace, Charles Fernald Anson, and Edmund Dwight in Boston, MA and then daughters Florence and Helen in New Brunswick.
