My name is Charlie Vines and I host a website for World War 2 data at www.genealogytrails.com (http://genealogytrails.com/ww2/). I took over maintaining the website this week and I wanted to invite you guys to drop in for a visit. There is not a lot of data now, but it will be growing. I was recently given a scrapbook with between 150-200 ww2 newspaper articles (including several copies of the "Report on the War" by General George Marshall). I will be posting this as quickly as I can. Charlie

Hi, I am knew to the page. I have a little information on the U.S. Paul Hamilton that was sunk in 1944. I had an uncle on the ship and I can't find any 'crew' pics or info. anywhere. I have a little on the ship and what happened, as well as pics, but nothing on the crew. I have searched archives everywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Leslie

Debbie,
I may have had a senior moment there. Apologies, for I certainly didn't want to confuse anyone.

Hi Dawn-
It appears from reading your blog that you are right. It sometimes happens that the stories that are passed down are just that, stories. Even the trees that are passed down are nothing more than stories.

Hi! I just joined this group (thanks Debbie for inviting me!) and I am hoping somebody may be able to give me some guidance with a huge mess I discovered today. I just wrote a blog post about it, and since it is long, I will post the link to the blog rather than repeat it all here. I would love to hear any feedback, guidance and suggestions.
