Hi I'm Randy,

Palmer Westcott may not be my brick wall, if my theory is correct, but I need to confirm it.

I believe that he was my gggggrandfather only because I found him living with my Lydia Westcott Dutcher in the 1850 census, in Perrysburg, Wood Co. Ohio.

Palmer Westcott is not a very popular name, and I have ruled out all but one. He was born to Thomas Westcott and Maria ? in 1790 possibly in Rutland Vermont. Again I make a leap when I read his age in 1850 as 59, it could be 39, but Ancestry's transcriber sees 59 as well.

Palmer WESTCOTT
Father: Thomas WESTCOTT (abt 1750 - aft 1810)
Mother: (Wife of Westcott) MARIA (1752 - )
Birth Mar 21, 1789 Clarendon, Rutland Co., Vermont

1. Lucy ROBBINS M. Jan 21, 1816
Children Orin WESCOTT (abt 1817 - aft 1880)
Lydia WESCOTT (1826 - Aug 25, 1893)
Lucretia WESCOTT (abt 1820 - )

Does anyone know of birth records for Rutland Co in 1817

Randy, are you still researching Westcott/Wescott from Devon, England? I do have a brick wall and haven't seemed to have gotten a response. Thank you Linda

Hello Linda, I am sure that I am descended from the noted Stukley Westcott who it seems is from Devon, but I never have time to research much, so I have not gotten a chance to research back to England, I have been working on other lines when I do get time.

Sorry I probably don't know as much as you even.
