LaLone said…: Debbie, since the State records for vitals did not begin till 1867 records of births, etc. are less likely to be recorded in the first few years. Having said that I would go to your local Family History Center and order in the film for the county vital records for births and look under both "CH" & "SH" spellings. You can then order in the film with the birth records. If this doesn't work then I would look in the the birth records page by page for 1867 through 1869. If none of those pan out, then check what Catholic churches were operating then and contact them to get a baptism. Good Luck. Jim.

Fortunately the Catholic Church records are complete and accessible. The only problem I can see is that your family lineage is very common as there are thousands of Lalondes and Fortins. I know a few Fortins so I will start there for you. The internet is a great tool to get somewhere abet slowly, but somewhere. Let’s keep in touch, as my email address is raymarentette@rogers.com. Haven't got the foggest idea where to go with that one..maybe I should look for him but don't know his parents names. I do know who he married. Where do I get marriage licenses from Ste Marthe? Marie Chartrand was baptised there.but don't know what to do to get the info. HELP??please
