Hi Barbara, I'm really sorry to hear about the death of Betty's husband. Do pass on my condolences to her. She still sends me a Christmas card every year. I'm still on the Kingsclere list but I've been very preoccupied with other work. I will be at Who do you think you are Live? Will you be going?
I would like to ask you a questions... What frustrate you as a blind genealogist doing genealogy... I am deaf and I am accredited genealogist with 35+ years experience.. I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to improve this area - handicap or disable or physical challenged genealogist...
I sent you the message below back in May but a short time later we changed our email address, and I completely forgot about having sent you this message. So don't know if you would have been able to reply.
Anyway here it is again. I would love to hear from you to see if we have any Valler connection.
I also notice you are researching the name Bullen, in Surrey. I also have Bullen ancestors, a Robert Bullen, born approx. 1820 in Woking, Surrey, and his father is William Bullen.
Hi Barbara,
I'm new to this site, but found your name, saying you were researching the name VALLER in Surrey. I'm in New Zealand, but my Valler ancestors came here from the Bramshott, Haslemere, Headley area in 1841. In particular William Valler b 1795, his wife Mary Mills and their 7 children. William Valler had parents William Valler and Ann Billinghurst, and as far as I know his siblings were James, Ann, Henry, Matthew.
Does this seem a possible connection to the Vallers you are researching?

No relation as far as I know. Mind you, I still haven't found Grand Uncle Henry Lindsay Robertson (vanished after the 1891 census), but it's one of the 10 most common names in Scotland....
Sorry!
My own BOXALL family are all West Sussex around West Dean. I hit a brickwall and decided to make it into a One Name Study, so I now have a very large BOXALL (and Variant) database. My most recent activity has been on the USA side.

Hi Barbara;
In reply to your request:
"I have got Ann BOXALL born 1766 where ? married George VALLER born 1767 Witley Surrey, Ann died 6 July 1847 Manor Lane, Clapham, Surrey. This is all that I know about Ann."
I have the marriage in my database but I'm sorry I have not been able to connect Ann to a BOXALL family. She died before the 1851 Census which would have given us a place of birth. I have found her in the 1841 Census with her son George aged 35. Do you have details of where their children were born, it might give us another clue. She was not born in Witley. Are you sure of her birth year? She is listed as a Coal Merchant in 1841 so possibly took over her husbands business so you might find them in Directories.Quickly checking through my database I have an Ann bc 1764 in Ockham, Sry. connected to a family but I have no other details for her. If you can let me know the answers to my other questions maybe you have a tiny piece of info that will help me.
Sorry I could not give you more to go on.
Kindest regards
Ronnie

My Shears were in Richmond from the mid-late 1700s. I am back to a John Shears who married Sarah Armstrong in Richmond in 1769. I havent been able to confirm John's baptism yet. Many of the Shears were chimney sweeps and thus the men did tend to die relatively young. No connections to Exeter in this line but plenty of Exeter/ Topsham links in my other lines.
Regards
Alison
I have a John Simmonds bc1764 who marries Sarah Baldwin in Wonersh in 1788, all their children are baptised in Pirbright, John and Sarah are buried in Pirbright but I have no idea where John came from.
