Thanks for your quick response. I've found that spelling doesn't count, so as you continue to work on this family, keep me in mind. I haven't found anything on them at all yet. My next plan is to use city directories to see if I can find anything.

Hi Kirsten: I'm new to this site and saw that one of your research interests is the name Knoell. My g-g-grandmother was Mary Ann Knole, who married Lewis Mahaffey in St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia in 1857. Lewis was a brick mason. She died in 1860. According to my mother, she was tiny but had several tall brothers. Does any of this sound like the Knoell family you are researching? If so, I'd love to exchange information.
