Apologies fo the late response.
There seem to be two main streams of GILLAMs in Australia: one centred around Cranbrook in Western Ausralia and the other around the Mid West of Western Australia. My wife is from the latter group and we've been trying to find a connection between the two groups for several years (unsuccessfully so far).

At 3:49pm on July 15, 2009, David Hunsche said…: My grandmother, Margaret Irwin McClelland, was born 1 Nov 1874 in Garranroe, Monaghan, Northern Ireland. She came to the U.S. in 1895 and married my grandfather, Frederick Hunsche, in Chicago in 1899. Her parents were John McClelland (Abt. 1841 to before 1918) and Maria Irwin (1844-1913), and she had eight siblings. Her brother, George Frederick (1871-1938) also moved to Chicago, but I don't know what happened to any of the other children. I found an abstract of John and Maria's marriage (26 May 1868) which indicated that John's father was named Hugh and Maria's father was named John. It also said that John was a widower at the time. Beyond that I haven't been able to learn anything more about the family in Ireland.
