Bit rich my using the "welcome" link as I only just joined, in order to get a message to you - I hope this does the trick.
James Lawrell junior (actually the fourth I have traced) is my gggg-gfather. I saw on your blog about Louis Bazalgette buying Eastwick that you also have picked up on James Lawrell losing Frimley at cards - this was always a legend in my family when I was growing up, and I wondered if you had come upon any contemporary reference to this?
