Your Taylor may be related to my husband. See my post at the Taylor group. My husband's uncle was always called Tate as a nickname, and in the past Howards were neighbors in Carroll Co., Arkansas. His family has known relatives in Oklahoma and Texas.
I have a line of Taylor but much older: Belinda Taylor married John Brinson in Kentucky before 1800, and lived Pulaski Co., KY. Since my other families in Pulaski, KY came from Caswell, NC, and adjacent counties, I suspect this Taylor may be from there also. I do not know the name of Belinda's father, but I am searching.
I'm thinking of doing a DNA test on my son, and a MtDNA on myself to determine if these Taylor are distantly related. My Taylor is in my direct mother's line, and as far back as I have been able to go from mother to mother.
Hi Becky. I have Taylors who married Tates in my line as well, but they are fom Illinois and moved to TX. I haven't researched too far back yet, but maybe we'll find a connection.
