I am descended from Samuel Hubbard (1610-1689) and Tacy Cooper (1608-1687). They were among the first members of the Sabbatarian Baptist (7th Day Baptist) in Newport RI. Would like to share information on this family, although my line of Hubbards ends with two daughters of this couple: Ruth (1639-1691), who married Robert Burdick, and Bethia, who married Joseph Clarke.
I am a direct male line descendant of George Hubbard (1601-1685) of Middletown, CT.
AND
I'm also a direct line descendant of Samuel Hubbard (1610-1689) and Tacy Cooper (1608-1687) through one of my father's mother's lines. I have included the line in my paternal lines database on Roots Web World Connect:
I'm very interested in locating a direct male line descendant of this Samuel Hubbard (1610-1689). Do you know of any? I would like to have their YDNA tested and included in the Hubbard Surname DNA Project at Family Tree DNA, of which I am the Group Administrator.
I suspect that there my not be any direct male line descendants of this Samuel Hubbard (1610-1689), in the USA. Perhaps in England.
I recall reading a statement that this Samuel Hubbard had no sons in the USA to carry the line forward.
I show that he had a son Samuel, but he died about age 20. So I doubt that there are any male descendants around. One of these days they may come up with a way to track the women - I hope!!!
Hi Merryann,
I am a direct descendant of Ruth Hubbard and Robert Burdick.
I have been searching information about the Hubbards and I just cannot find anything after Samuel and Tacy. I hope you all can fill in the blanks for me.
Also I am interested in storys about the family and its members.
I show Samuel Hubbard's parents as James (b. England; m. @ 1592 Naomi Cocke (no dates found, d. in Mendalsham, Co. Suffolk, England); d. 18 April 1611, Mendalsham, Co. Suffolk, England.
His grandfather is given as Thomas, who was burned by Mary in 1555.
Here are some of my resources. If you can't locate them, let me know and I'll make them available for you.
