My brick wall is the Father of Walter Warren, Sr. Walter was born in 1810 and died in 1899 ( Camden, NJ).
He married Margaret Pritchard
They had most of the kids in the town of MurderKill Hundred in Kent County Delaware.
I have no idea who ( whom) his father is, can you help?

Welcome Debby-

Can you tell us what records and information you already have for Walter that may help us find his parents? I am finding him and his family in census records that indicate that he and his parents were born in DE, and his wife Margaret was born in New Jersey?

Do you have an obituary/death record for Walter?

thank you!
Kate
Hi Debby-

I have found a brief death notice for Walter Warren in 1899 on Genealogybank. I also found what I believe to be Margaret's death record on FamilySearchLabs. I will post the information from the death record shortly if you need it.
I definitely would like her death record, from my info she died on 6-3-1892.. I have the death info on Walter, but another piece of the puzzle always helps.

I will get to the info you asked for in the next few days, ok?

Thanks for help, but I honestly think Walter was the first test tube baby.

Hi Debby-

One thing to look at is the 1820 census for Delaware, do a search for the Warren surname, and there are several Warrens listed in the Murderkill Hundred township in Kent County. Possibly you can eliminate those Warrens who did not have a son around Walter's age?

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Capt Walter Warren, aged 90 years, of 735 Berkley street, who spent 50 years of his life as a master of sea-going vessels, will be buried at Leesburg, N.J., on August 4.

According to the death record for Margaret, she died June 5, 1892, of 'general debility' (aka Old Age)
She was in her 76th year. She was to be buried at Leesburg, NJ. Her parents are not listed, but her place of birth is New Jersey. She lived at 1335 S. 6th St. She was buried June 7, 1892.

One other thought, do you know what religion they practiced? If they were Quakers, there may be some records for them in Meeting Records.

Can you send to me at Debby6alex1@aol.com? If someone posted this, then could that person had an email and i could contact them, I would think maybe a * rellie* of some sort, I also have Pritchard.

Debbu
You found the correct WARREN with Margaret Pritchard, that is their family.
I and a friend ( genealogy) looked into the Griffin family and that is not related to mine.
I think I forgot to mention that Walter Warren, Sr, had two brothers Samuel and Hamilton.
