Hi Everyone
I have to say that my Grandmother Alice May Sanborn, born in Mass around Jan 3 1, 1897, has been my biggest brickwall to date,
I've checked everywhere, still after these many years I still don't have a clue who her parents were, I know who she married and when she died,
On the 1920 census, I find a William Kiley married to an Alice. There is a daughter Alice married to a Nelson 'Rames', although Alice is listed as a 'Kiley'. Also there are three Sanborns, Thomas, John H and Robert listed as step-sons to William. And lastly a grandson William Runnals, who appears to be a little over 2.
My thinking is: William married an Alice Sanborn, and all of her children came to live with them, or William went to live in Alice's household? Then Alice(Alice's daughter) and Nelson married, and lived with them as well? The address is on Dyer Avenue, in Everett, Middlesex County, MA.
Looking at the census again, its possible William's name was Kelly?
I'm attaching the census.
I think the next goal should be to find either Alice in 1910?
Hi Gene,
I happened to have a copy of my mom"s birth certificate, which states that my Grandmother was born in winchester, Mass. , i hope this will help a little.
Hi Gene,
On my mom's birth certificate, not only can I provide the date, i have a copy my moms name was Edna Leona Runnals born March 19, 1934, and her parents were living in Boston...I hope this can help
Hi Gene,
That's a good question, about where my grandparents are buried, well I'm not really sure, because I was going to school
in another state. but I think it's possible , that they could be buried at forrest lawn, whickh I think it's in West roxbury, Mass
I thank you both for your efforts and determination to help me, I've looked at both the census and city directory.Thomas was born in 1918 in Mass, and I'll investigate the 1910 census, see what I can find out, one thing though, where do I get death certificates, my grandfather in july 1967 in Boston, and my grandmother died in Jan 1970 while staying at a nursing home in Jamaica Plain, Mass.....Again I thank you both for all the help you have giving me....Maybe we can f'inally find out more about these two dear people.
Again I thank you
I know grandfather died in Mass, I was 16 yrs old at the time, I think he died from liver failer, i remember at the time , how my grandmothers
children fought over some gold bonds........
I found a possible match for Thomas, John H and Robert in 1910. They were boarders in a household in Harwich, Barnstable County, MA, in the household of Everett and Margaret Eldredge. I haven't been able to find Alice and her mother yet. Its possible Thomas died and Inez had remarried?
Great Overview
I thank you for all your time and effort, but with William, this is the first time I ever heard that name, is it possible that he died young
I have some cousins, alot of them I never met, I have emailed Thomas son a couple of times, at one time he was trying to trace his family, since he is the last male in his line, I did email him a couple of times, but to no avail, never heard from him.....
