Valentine "Valcour" LeCour

Researching Valentine "Valcour" LeCour(t) from Natchitoches, Louisiana.  Can't figure out who his parents are.  He and Parthenia Sims moved to Houston,TX. area to live around 1860.  He is found on the census as Valentine LeCour states that his parents were born in France but I know this to be an error and wonder if Valentine is an error also.  1870 Census they are still in the Houston area but his name is Valcour.  This is the name that the family used to refer to him.  It is also on his death certificate.  Named his first son Paul Louis (b.1873) and I am wondering if Louis was his father's name but no documentation to show it.  Other children were Ophelia, Clementine, and Joseph LeCour.

Family tradition says that he had Indian Blood and this line of LeCour(t)s descend from a Caddo Indian woman named Ursulles married Barthlemy LeCour(t) according to the book Natchitoches by Elizabeth Shown Mills. I believe that they had eight children...six sons and two daughters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
