My John Jones was transported to Australia in 1829 so know nothing of his past in England. He married another convict Elizabeth Walters in 1838 and they had moved to Dubbo NSW by 1846 for the birth of 2nd daughter (as they are only baptism records neither give any information of parents except names. Birth certificates of last 2 children only state London as parents birth place. Deaths just say England

Researching John A. Jones and Martha Humphreys of Fluvanna County. They were married in 1783, marriage registered in the county on December 9, 1785. There were two gentlemen by the name of John Jones in, or around, Fluvanna county at this time. On the personal property list one is listed as John Jones - son of David, or Capt. My ancestor is listed as John Jones - powder. Have found tax records in Albermarle and Fluvanna county. Know he was in this area through 1787. Unable to locate birth or death records. Would love to know why he was called powder (gunpowder?). John & Martha's son was Solomon Jones - born in Fluvanna county, but died in Barbour county, WV on May 4, 1862.

I'm looking for Robert Jones born around 1821 in Alabama (we assume). He supposedly married a Margaret Green Born around 1821. They had a son John Chesser Jones in about 1845 in Blount County Alabama. He and His family lived in Fayette County Alabama in 1850. It is said that he and his sons were in the Civil War together. His ancestors are all buried in Tremont in Itawamba County, Mississippi. I'm stuck. Hit the brick wall hard. Any help or ideas? I feel like I searched and googled everything. I don't know, I think i need fresh eyes on it.
