Got another question. I have quite a good size tree entered and now would like to
send a CD of it to a relative for checking and additions.
Assume the other person doesn't have any prior information or programs on the
computer. How do I provide the required PAF pgm. along with the data so they
can open and read ? I can't find on my computer where the pgm. is that I downloaded
a long time ago. It doesn't show in Program Files or with a search.
I tried just copying the file to the CD and tried opening it on another computer
but it obviously needs the .exe file of PAF to open. Ideas? help?
    Thanks.

Wow, Lew! First, I would think that you didn't save the original data in a PAF file. Check ALL of your PAF files for it. The data may have ended up in a PAF file that you are not opening.

If the file you send your relative doesn't automatically open in a PAF format, they can select the 'find a program to open' option, and select PAF from the resulting menu.

I am waiting for other users of PAF to join in and give some guidance. I want to learn more about PAF myself. Meantime, can you save the data again? If so, be sure you are in the Family Search files when you save it.

Sorry I couldn't help more. Spivey

Hello, everyone. It's been a while since I have talked to any of you. Hope your PAF is working okay. I just love that program and having received a new computer as a Mother's Day gift, I was concerned about losing data. I just went to the LDS site and downloaded the program again and everything is fine. I had to pay again for the Companion, though, because that could not be transferred, but it is worth the $6 + price tag. I have yet to be able to use both programs fully and would appreciate any tips, any at all. Thanks. Spivey
