This group is for discussing all aspects of Southern research, including "burned" counties. If you list a problem for the group, please provide specific details, and what you have already researched.
I only have one branch in VA but I live in NC go to archives in Raleigh often and
work at Stagville Plantation. Stagville was the largest plantation in NC, over 30,000 acres and 900 enslaved. We are working on the original Cameron/ Bennehan records to document the slaves. Glad to help where I can.
As a note, I would prefer that the comment wall be for questions and comments about the group in general. If you have a specific question (as yours) regarding a certain location or type of records, please start a new thread on the "discussion forum" above. Hopefully this will accomplish two things.
1. It will keep the comment wall from becoming too confusing about who is replying to what message (as I have seen in some groups).
2. It will keep all comments about a topic together so a person doesn't have to hunt through multiple messages to find ones that apply to that topic.
If you would like to repost your question under the "Discussion Forum" for anyone who may answer, I will delete this one.
