I'm already a member of DAR. I am trying to find information on James Blevins who married Hannah Lyon (s) and his line for my husband SAR application. I did find his pension papers on Heritage Quest and hitting road blocks as to other documentatin that is required, marriage, birth, death records for him and the others in the line. The only sure things I have so far is my husband's birth certificate, our marriage license, my in-laws marriage and death certificates, an obituary for his grandparents (John William Blevins and Nancy Wilson). That is where the researching stop. Have not got copies of their death certificates as Kentucky doesn't seem to be able to find them. Also I'm trying to find obituaries on James Blevins and Pheobe Stephens. Can anyone help me. At present time we cannot travel to Kentucky and do the research ourselves.
I'd like to contact anyone who descends circa 1850's Ashboro, North Carolina, area Blevins. They may have had earlier Guilford/Rockingham Counties, N.C., Blevins connections?
I am the 5x grandchild of Lydia sizemore and James Blevins. I am wondering if any one has any info on this family line stemming from ash co. N.C. and Grayson co. Virginia. Especially on the white top Cherokee tribe connection. I do know that Lydia Sizemore daughter of Indian chief old Ned Sizemore married James Blevins
