I recently purchased at an auction in Tennessee, a box of old photographs, and letters from an Ohio estate. Among the artifacts, there was an 18th century silouette, paper over old black fabric, in what appears to be the original walnut frame. There is a name at the top of the picture of a man, Thornton Walker. I am interested in selling this cutting, but thought I would notify Walker descendants that this is available, before I try to sell it in the antique shop I rent a space in. There is also a fragment of paper that was on the back of the sillouette, that I would give to whomever buys the sillouette.
I may be contacted via e-mail, and can send a jpg, of the sillouette, at mountainmojo@skybest.com.

My isabella Walker is the child of Andrew Walker and Helen Horsburgh born 29APR1779 at St. Andrews And St. Leonards, Fife, Scotland. Andrew was a taylor of that city according to Isabella's birth certificate also Andrew is entered as Deacon Andrew Walker.
hey folks, My Dna testing (64 out of 67 markers) links me toI am new to the John Walker line.
He was born in County Antrim, Ireland in 1767 arriving in Charleston, S.C. from Belfast, Ireland on the "Earl of Donegal" in 1767.
My Greatfather was Lafayette Walker (perhaps Marcus Lafayette Walker) b.1874 in Wayne County, Illinois. He married Grace Burtcham. I've researched for two years and cannot make the pedigree connection between these two men. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.
___My WALKER immigrant was Joseph A. 'Joe' WALKER, born 29 Jan 1829, way up in Banff, Banffshire (now Aberdeenshire), Scotland, in Walker's Close; he died 27 Jun 1908 near Alexandria, Thayer Co., Nebraska. ___His son Corbett married Evelyn 'Eva' McCURDY, whose family had emigrated first from Scotland to co. Antrim, Ulster, in Nov 1666, and from Antrim to the States circa 1805.
My gg grandmother was Christette Walker born in 1853 in Pope County Ill. She married Eleazor Nelson in 1875 in Pope County. Christette was orphaned as a child and lived with other families in Pope County, on her death certificate it listed her father as John Walker and mother unknown. Needing help with her line. Thank you.
Looking for the Anthony Walker family of Baltimore, Maryland. Anthony was born in Nov. 6 1869 to Francis Walker and Mary McLaughlin in St Nicholas, Aberdeen Scotland and immigrated to the USA in 1889 He married in Maryland abt 1895 and his bride was named Mary In the 1900 census Anthony and Mary are listed as living at 227 N. Ann St. in Baltimore and having 3 children Lottie, Frank and Anthony Jr. Do these names or the addresse ring a bell with anyone on Walker surname?
I am researching John Walker born in 1771 . Was in wool trade and manufacturer. He died April 15,1829.He married Rachel. I believe his son John Walker born 10 Nov 1802 had a drapery business in Halifax, England.
The info on John and Rachel Walker came from notes in the family Bible so I am not sure where John and Rachel were born or her maiden name. They seem to have known and therefore are likely related to Thomas Andrew Walker (1828-1889), chief contractor of the Severn Tunnel project. His father(Robert Walker) was born about 1789 in Scotland.
My Walkers go back from my grandmother, Clara Helen Walker 1907-1990 who married William E Stepp 1895-1971 (both born in Greenbrier, Bollinger Co., Missouri. Both buried in Toledo, Lewis Co. WA.
Her father George Alfred Walker 1877-1934 (born in Pulaski Co., MO) who married Minta Wilde 1884-1970 (born in Greenbrier). George is buried in Sturdivant, Bollinger Co., MO; Minta Brinkman (she had remarried), in Toledo, Lewis Co., WA.
George's father: John William Walker 1854-1924 (born in Greene Co., Indiana) & married to Nancy Embry .
John's father: Hardin Walker 1828--1884 (born in Greene Co., IN) married Mariah Bockover 1832-1906, born in Ohio). Hardin died in Stoderville, Cape Girardeau Co., Missouri; Maria died in Bollinger Co., MO.
I know that several of Clara's brother & sisters lived in the Alton, Madison Co., Illinois area.
John Walker born in 1771 married Rachel Shaw who was born 11 Jun 1781 in Norland Elland Yorkshire, England. She died 18 Apr 1857. They were married 24 Jan 1802 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. Does anyone have more info on John Walker?
My Walker line started in Maine in early 1800's, migrated through Massachusetts and entered West Virginia in about 1840. The individual that I am interestes is
my g-grandfather, Eugene Kendall Walker b. 1861; m. Ella Guthrie, b. abt 1864, OH; had 4 children: Jerome Eugene, Gus, Benjamin Harrison, Greta.
Divorced and possibly remarried to Maggie Ryan about 1904. If you have
any information about Eugene, please email me. Thanks, Richard Kirkpatrick.
Walker is the (has been) 17th most common name in Scotland. I have ancestors from that area, and also all over Scotland.
Names, birthdates and places, spouses, siblings, Town names - all are needed to Know if we are connected to you, unless you Dna test at Family Tree DNA?
Does anybody have info about John Walker Born 1721 Belfast Ireland, then came to Edgefield S.C around 1765?. they had 5 kids Joseph,Martha, John, Samuel, and Thomas. He was married to Jeanette. Thank you.
Anyone researching George Walker born 1845 in Scotland .Went to America 1865 He died in Amesbury MA 1919.He had the WalkerWells carriage Company in MA.Was married to Georgianna Hume
I have no idea where my Walker ancestors lived in Scotland. Is there any website where I can find out where Walkers resided? Supposedly, our ancestors had a castle/home called "Toaping Castle" in Scotland, but have not been able to verify that. Any suggestions? I will be traveling to Scotland next summer (2011) and would like to locate where they were from before I go.
My grandfather was Hamilton Glen Walker, his parents died when he was still young. He was born in 1871 in Weimar, DeWitt, Texas. Would love to find someone who is researching him, his parents or siblings. Thanks, Lillian
My ancestors are from Virginia and I am in DNA Group #2 decendant of David Walker, New Kent/Goochland area. Researching documents in the New Kent/York Co. area during 1600's. Also have Walker's found in King William, Louisa Co Virginia and Maury Co. Tenn. Marie Walker Jennings
For information about their new home in the colonies built by the Walker brothers and named for the original Toaping Castle, go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toaping_Castle This may give you a start in tracing it in Scotland (thank goodness for handy-dandy Google searching. "Try it; you'll like it").
I know very little about my maternal grandfather. His name was Newton Walker. My mom was born in Houston, Mississippi in 1917 and grew up in Pulaski, Columbia and Nashville, Tennessee. My grandfather died in 1960 - so I would guess he was born in the late 1800's. Any information would be very much appreciated.
Found my ggrandparents in Mossy Grove, Lavaca County, Texas. James L. and Sarah O. Walker, J.L. deceased Nov 1879 and Sarah 23 June 1880. Her brother James L. Grizzard became guardian of their 7 children. They came to Texas from Morgan & Limestone Co., Alabama. She born there, father Henry P. Grizzard, J.L. born in Arkansas. Anyone else researching this family?
Help! I descend from a Martha Jane "Mattie" Walker, whose daddy's name was James (and there are records on about a thousand James Walkers in every county in the USA). From censuses and other stuff, I have learned that Martha Jane Walker was born in 1851, 1853, and 1855...in IN, IL, and MO! She died 14 July 1927, and is buried in Tucumcari Memorial Park, Quay Co NM. NM cannot locate her Death Certificate, and neither can I. She was married 10 October 1873 in MO to Andrew Baker Simpson.
About the most solid clue I have is that she lived in Millsap, Parker Co TX, from roughly 1875 until about 1901, and that one of her nieces-by-marriage, Ollie Justus, married William DIllard Goen. Like I said...HELP!
Jeffrey Hinkle have you found out anything since your post below looking for info on Newton Walker? Who did he marry? what's your mom's name? they would be on the 1920 census 3 yrs after her birth.... and then 1930. He would be on earlier ones with wife, then earlier with parents, if you don't already have that info, I'll be happy to send it or post it along with anything else I find..... :)

My name is Charlene and I've been researching my family tree for about two years now. I'm trying to track back to my 4th paternal G.G. who was possibly born in Europe (England or Scotland) or may be an American Indian? I don't know is first name (unknown Walker) but his son's name is John Curtis Walker (1797-1869) born in Hopewell, Somerset County, MD. He married Lydia Whaley (born 1810) in either MD or VA. Their children are: Henry (John), Hester A., Zachariah, Nathan, Sarah Jane and Ferlilia, all born in Somerset County, MD., living in Brinkleys District, Somerset County, MD. I hope you can help. I am at a dead-end in my line. It's been passed down in my family that we are of American Indian descent. I'm not sure if I can't find this Walker because he may be an Indian? I hope someone out there can shed some light on my family tree
Specific to Marie Jennings - I am 99.99% certain I also descend from David Walker, his daughter Hope Walker (Mrs. Nathaniel Lancaster), etc. I saw some info on "Who's Your Daddy!" that I would like to discuss with you. Feel free to write me direct at pj_sisseck@yahoo.com, thanks!

PA. John joined the Continental Army during the Rev. War in Cumberland Co. on May 1, 1776 for 20 months, being released on Jan 1, 1778.
