Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for any information on Henry and Mahala Miller. They lived in Lebanon, KY in 1880. They had 4 daughters, Mollie (8), Jane (7), Ida (6) and Annie (2). On the 1880 census Henry was 29 and Mahala was 35. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am very interested in the Shaker religious society at Pleasant Hill, near Harrodsburg, KY and will do lookups in my GONE TO THE WORLD book, by Marc Rhorer for anyone wanting to see if an ancestor was a member of the Shakers. My own lines were the first to join the society in 1805, Banta and Montfort, in particular. I have a group dedicated to both THE SHAKER RELIGIOUS SOCIETY OF KENTUCKY and another to the DUTCH COUSINS IN KENTUCKY. Have had over 50 years of researching and glad to help others if they are part of the Low Dutch Colony that came to KY starting in 1780 or suspect a family member might have been a Shaker.
Betty Jo, so sorry your husband and mother aren't well. Wish I lived in Kentucky or had a trip planned to that area so I could help you out! We've tracked my husband's family through Missouri and know they go back to Kentucky, but haven't gotten in too deep there yet. You can try contacting the local historical society. When I needed some documentation for my DAR application, for a small donation I was able to get current photos of an ancestors gravestone sent to me from the historical society. One generalization you can make about historical societies: They have wonderful staff and volunteers. Or a local genealogy club member might take on the job.
I have been trying to track down information about the Dean Family in Pineville Kentucy for a long time and can barely find records on the people I grew up around much less anyone before them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Great Grandmothers name was Kate Dean. to Wendi Beck--I am not related, but found John Dean and Kate Dean in 1910 census in Bell County Ky---in 1920 I show children Edward Mary William and Leroy--with sister in law Syble Gibson---Edward shows mom in Ky (Bell County)birth index as Kate Gibson. John's death certificate shows he was born Sept 22, 1880 in Bell Co and died Feb 27, 1952 in Bell County--parents William Dean and Lillian Glasscocks. is this your family?
Not sure but emailed it to a cousin in Ky to see if they can double check. I do recall them talking about relatives named Gibson so it could be. I know I had a great Aunt Mary though don't recall an Edward William or Leroy. A great great Uncle Ed that I think that was my Great Grandmother Kate's brother.
My Kentucky ties are Dobkins-in Pulaski and Wayne Counties-allied with Barnett, Turpin, Holler, Bolding, Adams and others. Also my husband's family-Keith/Keath of Owen County, KY-allied with Stewart, McPherson, Kemper, Burk, Branstetter and Hughes. Anyone out there tied to any of these families?
hi there
Most of my mom's family comes out of Eastern Kentucky. Ive hit brick walls when it has come to them. At one point the main families stayed in Carter Co. Ky before branching off to Lewis, Greenup and Boyd Counties.
The families were
John Lunsford who married Millie Ann Sexton.
John also married a Nancy Stephens. She was his first wife. They only had one child who name was James Lunsford.
There daughter Margaret Mary Lunsford married Aaron Loar right after the 1880 census. They ended up in Whitley Co. Ky. Aaron father was Moses Loar. Moses was married to a Sarah Parker from Lawrence or Boyd Co. Ky. She was supposely accidentally shot to death. Moses left there son and disappear for few years. We know that Sarah Mom' Elizabeth Parker was Loar and figure that Moses was somehow related to her but cant figure it out.
Emma Lunsford daughter to John/Millie married George Herron. Both of them from Carter Co. Ky ended up in Kanawha Co. WV.
Mary Lunsford d/o John/Millie married John Osborne. Both of them from Carter Co. Ky.
Anybody working on these families.
I am doing research on the Davis Family from Breathitt County, Kentucky. My husband is a direct descendent of Jeremiah & Mariam Little Davis. Would love to have some pictures. I have one of Jefferson & Casandra Davis and would really love to find one of their brothers and sisters, expecially John Evans (or Evin) Davis. Is there anyone connected to this family?
I am looking for anyone that my be linked to the ADKINS line. If you are you can email me at Amylang1975@att.net. I will be happy to share what I have or know.
Hope to hear from ya. Thanks, Amy from Michigan
For anyone looking for a particular head/grave/tomb stone, give a look. There are people who are members who volunteer to photograph cemetery sites. Moreover, it's a FREE site.
I'm looking for information on Tennysons from Greene County, KY. So far I haven't been able to locate them in census records. My ggg grandfather was John Tennyson and he was a medical doctor. He moved from KY to Alabama, then to Mississippi, where he died in 1898.
Patsy Adkins - Girl, us Adkins gotta stick together! Here are some Kentucky Osborns who link up with the Adkins line back in the day. Any relation to your Osborns? A newfound cousin tells me she joined the DAR through Ipsely Osborn

I'm another Adkins, Kay:) Actually, my great grandmother was an Adkins. She was the daughter of Adam Adkins (m. Bertha McDaniel). He was a son of Ewell and Sarah Cross Adkins (as far as I can tell...I don't have a lot of proof on that one).
Hmmmm..I'm afraid the names you listed don't sound familiar. We've got James, Granville, and Edward/Edwin in our line. I can e-mail you a couple of Adkins family trees if you give me your e-mail address. Mine is desertmouse@aol.com (Because I will never, ever be a desert rat!) The e-mail offer goes for any other Adkins out there!
Most of my Adkins line comes out of Elliot Co., then later they moved to Crandon, Wisconsin. My Grandfather was Lonnie Adkins, his father was Charlie Adkins and on up wards.I have lots of Howards, Owens and Braxston/Brackstons in my line. If this sounds like your go ahead and leave a note. Thanks.
I just joined the group. I am researching Porter families of Kentucky; but, espencially the ones in the areas of Floyd and Pike Counties. I believe this
to be the area that my maternal grandmother's family was from, although, I have
no proof of that yet. Her name was Nevora Porter, b. 04 Jul 1872, mother's name was Mary (b. abt. 1846 in KY), father's name may have been John Porter. My mother always told me that her mom's family was related to the McCoys of Hatfield/McCoy fame; and, this is the reason I am looking in this
area. This is the only area of my family tree which has not been worked back into the 1600s; and, I would love to find out about my grandma's family. Of course, no one is now left alive to ask the right questions, which I now know to ask LOL! So far, though, I have picked up a lot of info on different Porter families of KY as I have been systematically researching them all for some time. Hope joining this group might bring something to light.....or failing that, turn a light bulb on for my grandma's family!
