Morning Everyone, I'm new here have been doing research on my husband Robert's family, we live in Indiana all our lives. We have been looking for his GG Grandmother Harriet Turner. It has taken us years to find what we have. She married his GG Grandfather John Willis Turner on December 7, 1843 at Madison, IN . On the Marriage license she was Harriet Johnson Burch then we found her in Lost Creek Township Vigo County IN she is listed with 4 children but by then John had died. At some point she married a Terry Flood but we don't have any information about the marriage. We're thinking they were married in Clay County, IN at the time the county seat would have been Bowling Green, IN and the court house burned to the ground with of course all records. this marriage produced a son James and I have gone that direction trying to trace Harriet to see if could find her burial or anything that way, any suggestions welcome:) If anyone needs information we're willing to help. Vigo, Clay, Putnam, Parke, Sullivan counties surround us.
Hello, I am new as well. Started researching family and found there are a lot of Turners out there. Researching the Turners from Ray, Missouri. Once was call Fishing River Township. Close to Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Before Missouri they were in Kentucky and then Virginia. My great-great grandparents are Doniphan and Mary Turner (Hutchings).
My husband's grandmother was a Turner. In the early 1800s JOHN TURNER (1813-1885) moved from SC into Lumpkin Co and Dawson Co in Georgia. Several family members are buried in the Turner Family Cemetery in Dawson Co. I've hit a wall with John Turner from SC. Any help/hints are greatly appreciated. Thanks
