    You might try looking around northern VA (and WV). In researching my East TN lines (Knox, Anderson, Roane Cos.), I see a lot of the same surnames that came from that area. The county lines in that area of VA changed a lot. FamilyHistory101.com has historical maps that can help sort it out. My East TN folks came from Frederick County, VA and what is now Berkeley Co., WV.
