Anne, You got me started on finding places in England that don't show on my World Atlas book....thanks to Google Maps. Got several maps showing the little towns I'm reading about. I've made my 1st visit to the Historical Center right here in Jonesville that's open on Wed. They were very helpful and I got a couple facts with their subscriptions and I've ordered my 1st microfilm from England church, hoping for birth dates. I't slow but fun!
Anne, thanks for throwing in more pieces of puzzle for me to meditate over. I really do appreciate the effort you put forth because you can go see in places I have yet to find or be able to scour. With the info you and Christine gave me, it's so evident that recording, dating, & spelling lends frustrating interest to tracing people. And then there's the wavering of dates, few exact. I thank you angain for your ablility to find thses stats. You may contact me : shirl7121@frontiernet.net or shirl712@hotmail.com. I'm going to ask you to be my friend for you have such good advanced knowledge which will benefit my learning.
Hi Anne
Thanks for your message. I thought I'd joined the Lincs group on this site - that was my intention - but I don't seem to know how to do that. I have a personal page, which I didn't really want, and not in the group that I want. Perhaps the wintery NZ weather that befuddled me!! [hope this gets to you]
Pamela
Look at the England page http://www.genealogywise.com/group/england
you have the text box like that - i've clicked on edit & renamed it links
that's the easy bit
then you can write what text you like, then mention other sites on genealogy wise - maybe neighbouring counties if they exist, and England. When you've written the word England, get its URL on the clipboard.
Highlight the word England, and go to the horizontal toolbar in the header above, called hyperlink. click on that, & you get a box to paste the URL in.
Sounds worse than it is, as they say!
Good luck !

Thanks for the welcome. I do find this site a little difficult to use, but hopefully will get the hang of it soon.
Regards,
Pat.

I sent you my email address the other day. How do I get your normal email address?
Alan
