GenealogyWise UPGRADING to GenealogySocial on Ning 3.0

GenealogyWise.com has become GenealogySocial.com. You'll begin to see the new name and changes over the next few weeks. Both website URLs will bring you to the site, no worries. We're finally matching the branding of our parent organization, the International Institute of Genealogical Studies.

GenealogySocial.com is part of the International Institute of Genealogical Studies family found at https://GenealogicalStudies.com. The name change and site upgrade here is phase 2 of the major upgrades we've been doing with the trade school, websites, and service to our students, staff, and the genealogy industry friends we work with in all these places and spaces. 

We're moving on up to the latest version of the platform in order to provide you with better integration, communication, and a more modern appeal to this social network for genealogists. 

More details will release as we make these changes, but everyone's account is moving to the new platform. Photos are moving, videos are moving! All will move. However, if your photos were in an album, they may not be after the move though they will still be attached to your account.

We're so sorry that we cannot control photos inside album containers. Ning says they're working on that option. But they sadly did not plan for albums in their upgrade, even so many years later. We waited for that, but it's been too long. We need to provide you a smoother experience. We hope that Ning will get that solved in the near future. 

What can you expect? 
Smoother tech experience
New groups for studies, alumni, and seminar groups (names pending).
     Some of these groups will include paid subscriptions for hands-on learning with mentoring professors
     Some of these groups will be business-focused for professional genealogists working in the industry sharing ideas
     Some of these groups will be topic-focused fields of study
     Some groups and pages will be added over time

As we did with the GenealogicalStudies.com website for students, we will continue to improve the upgraded GenealogySocial.com for members. 

Thank you for your patience during the move, we don't think it will disrupt much at all as we bring you into the modern era of technology! The roll is nearly complete, but we'll be tweaking the design and adding features over the next several months to give you more functionality and different experiences than were available prior on the previous platform.
