Hi Paul, Yes, I think you are probably right about Richard Whitbread being William's father. I already have this Richard in my ESS_01 family, so it looks like your family links up with that one. On the other hand, I don't think you have the right Elizabeth death and burial. Richard's wife Elizabeth died in Dec. 1852 aged 90. This makes her the right age as given in the 1841 census (where both were stated to be 75). Have a look at my ESS_01 files for details. William's brothers and sisters were born in High Laver, but William's baptism was not there. I will update my files accordingly, but I will keep the two families separate for the time being. Steven
