Just tweeted. I have been looking for my 2nd great grandfather Thomas Liston for many years. He came from Ireland to New Brunswick, Canada, petitioned for land there in 1843, and married my 2nd great grandmother Letitia Sinnet/Zinette. He died before 1856 unless he absconded. But she was said to be a widow then when she remarried. This weekend I found a notice in the Boston Pilot of 1850 by Patrick and James Liston of Litchfield, Connecticut, looking for their brother Thomas Liston, whom they had last heard from in Norton, New Brunswick. They said that he had come on the ship Breeze from Limerick in 1841. I looked up the Breeze, and found that it was a brig that had sailed from Limerick in April, 1841, and wrecked on Sacatie Island, Nova Scotia, in May. The passengers were all saved and moved on from there to various destinations, some to St. John, NB. I thought this would allow me to trace Patrick and James and find out more about the family; however, after 1850, I do not find them. I hope more will turn up in the near future!
