Joseph Richard Barnett
I am happy to contribute and join with other Barnett researchers. My brick wall is Joseph Richard Barnett born about 1827 in Tennessee. He married Margaret Adeline Smith in 1849 in McMinn County, Tennessee. They both died in Newton County, Missouri. I am searching for his parents and siblings. He may have had a brother named Isaac. His first son was named John W. Barnett, so that may be a clue to his father's name. Joseph and Margaret spent part of the civil war in Illinois, so I wonder if they had relatives in that state.

I have a Dwight Barnett in the Cleveland area mid 1920's. Do you have any Barnett's in the Ohio area?

My gosh. You are a tremendous help. Where have you been all my life? I do know that Joseph married Margaret in McMinn county but I really don't understand the land records. I know about Reba Bayless Boyer and have read many of her books. I will look up the probate records and the land records to see if I can make sense out of them. Thanks so much, Sherri
