Howdy ARDs! Happy Friday! I've recently updated my Family Tree & it includes the following Alabama Surnames -- BARWICK, MCKENZIE, ROSS, WASHINGTON, MARTIN, MCRAE.

If any surname sparks, please drop by www.OurAlabamaRoots.com & make sure to check out The Roots tab!:-)

Cheers,

Luckie.

My Johnson family came from Lawrence Co., Alabama in the 1880's.
Thomas Johnson b. ca. 1822 m. Martha Sheffield Sept. 1, 1845 in LCA
Isaac Johnson b. ca. 1787 of Va. m. Elinder Mullins 15 Dec. 1815
Isaac and Elinder came to LCA from Kentucky.
Would like to verify that Martha Sheffield is the daughter of William Sheffield, s/o Arthur Sheffield and Lucretia Hogan.

Sorry about asking for such a minor information regarding Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL I found the information through www.switchboard.com. I just forgot the name of the sight to check for the phone numbers. I need to be on the ancestry study on consistant basis!!

ey San! I am certainly hoping Alabama Researchers will venture over for a neighborly Georgia visit! This is where the bulk of my research will focus in 2010 -- chasing down all my Dothan relatives and Ancestors!:-)

I've found only one ancestor in Alabama so far, but I bet there are more. Looking forward to meeting Alabama researchers at the meetup!

Happy New Year Alabama Root Diggers and welcome to our new ARD members!:-)

I work in the INTERNET world and have been heads-down for months on a project! Glad to say it's behind me and I can once again, dive right back into my Genealogy research!:-)

I believe that 2010 will present many Genealogy DISCOVERIES and few brick walls for all of us! We have all the tools at hand -- we just have to use them!

One topic discussed last year was a gathering of online Georgia/Alabama researchers to connect (offline) and share.

Believing that there is no better time than the present to take action - please join us for the first Georgia/Alabama Root Diggers Genealogy Meetup in Atlanta on Feb 7th!

The goal is to meet-up with local Genealogists who frequently connect via Genealogywise, Facebook, Twitter and personal GeneaBlogs!

Please visit the GARD Meetup page for more details and to join the FUN!:-)

And please bring your suggestions for meeting locales and activities!

Still with you on the journey,

Luckie.
