I have one tree for all the names in my and my husband's families. I titled it Chambers Family, I think, but then went back and changed it to just "Heather's Research" because my mom's side of the family wanted to see all my research and they are Tuckers, so I knew it would throw them off when I told them to look at "our" family tree and it was titled Chambers. I did start a whole new tree when I started researching a friend's family, just simply because I knew none of her ancestors were in my family tree (that I know of) and plus she can see the tree and not have to wade through all my family stuff.

Just my input,
Heather

I have done both, my site on Ancestry.com is Baxter/Root/Hanner/Disbrow/Vanderbeck but I also have one for just the Marshall's and one for just the Baxter's and just started one for the Disbrow's.

Betty, when I upgraded to Vista Home Premium, I had my printer plugged in to computer, and when new operating system finished the printer didn't work. Thats when I read unplug all peripherals before installing new system. I had to buy a new printer. I don't like Windows Vista, many programs not compatible. And now when I try to visit Genealogy.com I get a screen stating my browser not responding, or something like that. I've already pre-purchased Windows 7, and am keeping fingers crossed, that my programs will be compatible with it.

I called my tree Armstrong-Bell after my husband and myself. But as time went on it has become unweildy for anyone invited as a guest. So I am beginning some subsidiary trees for different parts of the family; then people don't have to search through a whole lot of unfamiliar names.

I have just started adding my family information to Ancestry.com. I am naming my family trees individually by family. Just my preference, I am sure others will have their own preferences.

For William Allen, I named my tree the CRABTREE family tree. I have over 4000 people in the tree and I tie them together as I can'

Maybe it's a bit selfish but I have named my family tree after me - using my married name. My tree is actually for both my husband and myself's famillies so that seems to work best. At least people who are searching for me can find me - I have found 3 second cousins in the last year alone. This is helped by the fact that we share two sets of grandparents - a brother in one family married a girl in the other and her brother married the first man's sister.

Here is a dilemma I find myself in with my family Tree.

My fathers surname is Allen, and It was originally named “Allen family tree” well a few others in the family started adding for their family’s and now I have it named:

Allen/Tanner/Boxx Family Tree

I don’t like that.. I want one name, I mean if you trace any of your grandmothers lines the surnames change so much…

So my question to everyone is, what have you named your trees on Ancestry.com and do you have one super tree like me or do you create a separate tree for each Surname?

The printer, Dell came with the computer. I have since changed to Kodak. Will have to find my bok from FTM to check on the settings. Thank you.
