Does any one use genealogy software (ex. Family Tree Maker), in addition to ancestry? I currently don't have software but am feeling the need to invest. (Hate having all my information in only one place). If you use software in addition to Ancestry, what do you use / recommend?

Thanks

Be sure to call the Legacy people when you have a problem. They are awesome to work with and will work out any "bugs" with you while you are at your computer, and it's all free. I had a few issues also when I was first using Legacy, but with a 1:1 everything worked out and went smoothly.
Here's a another comparison chart, from Wikipedia:

Has a very good comparison of the program features, as well as other aspects, such as operating system and available user interface languages.

Mavis, I use FTM (Family Tree Maker) and really like it. I've used others (PAF, Brother's Keeper, TMG) but like FTM the best. It's not perfect there are things I'd like to add/change (such as why oh why can't we have a spot to put a baptismal date as well as a birth date!! ) but all in all it's my program of choice
I actually keep two software programs. I use Roots Magic for my "permanent" one - the one that has all my proofs and is the most correct. I use Family Tree Maker for the "easy" one because it works so well with ancestry.com and I can download so easily to it. I also like Roots Magic because I can toggle between it and whatever I am researching on the internet.
