oh, I see it says "OTHER" so may have been some notice besides death?

so Elizabeth & William listed on 1900 census they were married 4 years, I see a I.H. Underwood that died in NE in 1892 could that be your Isaac?  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nenews/NSHS/extractions/ext10222.txt

One of my brick walls is what was my 3xDrake great-grandmother's maiden name? Also when & where were they married? My 3xgreat-grandfather was William Drake,Jr. born circa 1784 either in Bedford Co.,PA. or Allegany Co.,MD. the s/o William Drake,Sr. & Elizabeth Hinkle who were married 20 Oct. 1780 in Frederick Co.,MD. In 1800 William & Elizabeth Drake appear in the Bedford Co.,PA. census. By the 1810 Bedford Co.,PA. William Drake,Jr. is married & has his own household. I found out they moved to Harrison Co.,OH. by 1819 & appear in the 1820 census there. I also found out William Jr.'s wife was named Mary through a land purchase. I'm thinking Mary might have grown up as a neighbor to the Drakes in Bedford Co.,PA. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!

ok, so daughter Myrtle was born ca. 1883 in Iowa, then daughter Edith was born ca 1885 in NE, so between the 1885 NE census and 1900 CO census Isaac died and Eliz. remarried to Fink. at least we have a time frame :)

Connie, have you checked in Wapello Co.,IA. for your Underwoods? Sarah Ann Underwood & her husband Benjamin Drake moved from Monroe Co.,OH. with most of his Drake family(parents & siblings) circa 1869 to Wapello Co.,IA. Their oldest child was Isaac Thomas Drake born 25 Jan.1861.Do you think they could be related?

or maybe that's Elizabeth remarried to Fink?
