I am interested in hearing from anyone related to the Cork Thompsons or Connells. I have traced my ancestors back to Cork in the mid 1800s. The earliest marriage I have is Nicholas Thompson to Mary Connell. Most of their children were born in Ballyclough.

I am looking for a County Cork connection to my 4th great-grandfather, Jeremiah O'Bryon, he was born abt 1757 according to his grave stone he immigrated to New York probably just after the American revolution. The first record of him being in New York isfrom The Kaatsban Church Records Vol. lll Kingston Library, Kingston,NY, it is the record of Jeremiah and his wife Margaret McDarmey christening thier daughter Margaret in 1786. Family lore, which I know is not always reliable, says he came from Co. Cork .

I have started putting my research notes into Shared Tree, as there are many more records in the notes with no obvious relationship to my family than I have actual family records.

Looking for information about James CALLAHAN (b. abt 1794) and Jane DALE (b. abt 1804). Their children include James (b. abt 1842), John (b. ????) and Elisabeth (b. Aug 1844), and possibly William (b. Mar 1829). They emigrated to Philadelphia.

Cahalane, Callahan, Donovan and Schull area/Long Island, Schull
Looking for any info on families of Long Island, Schull. My gr-grandmother, Ellen Callaghan, born 1876, daughter of Denis and Catherine (Donovan) Callaghan, married Jeremiah Connolly of Goleen area about 1899. I don't Catherine (Donovan) Callaghan's parents or siblings, though 1901 census shows Donovan families on Long Island and other Schull area islands. Denis (O') Callaghan was born about 1839, (no location), son of Denis and Ellen (Cahalane/Cahelin/Cahelane). Griffith's Valuation (1848-1864) shows only a few Cahalanes near Schull: a Patrick of East and a Patrick of West Ballybane. Also Cahalanes in Durrus area. Any help appreciated.

Ellen - you'll need to now the townland in Ireland your ancestor is from in order to make any connections or find out anything in Ireland. This is not easy to do. If the information is anywhere it's in US records - ship mainifest, intent to naturlize declaration, naturalization records, records of marriage or maybe children's baptismal records. Good luck,
Barbara in St. Louis, MO

I'm looking for Ellen O'Connell born ca 1833 in Cork and immigrated to US ca 1853. She married Patrick Daly in Warren Co. NY in 1854, had a son James in 1855, moved to Iowa, had a son William in 1856 and was widowed in 1854. James and Will homesteaded in SD and Will's family is still in Flandreau area.
Would love to find more info on the O'Connell's Cork roots. Any ideas??

Hello, Looking for John Moody and Anna Boyd I have heard from Cork County. I think John was born there somewhere about 1837. Anna Boyd also 1837. They married in Clark Co. Ohio 1855. Had at least one daughter Mary born in 1857 also in Clark Co Ohio. I heard Anna Boyd Moody died in childbirth with that daughter or another child. Lost them after that.
Anyone else searching for this family? Judy Spangler Jones
