Sorry, I try and put the periods in there, did not know it was FG.

Wow, sorry Allyssa, retirement is not fun. My limited income does not go very far either. There was a financial lady on Nate Berkus show (love him) yesterday that told a lady to save lots of money by changing her lightbulbs to those screwy things. Save over 100 per year, yeah, and the bulbs are $6.00 a peice.

So change your light bulbs, lol.

Julia, would you mind referring to it as FG instead of FAG...that's such a bad acronym.

Ads are one thing, annoying ads are another. And even worse are ads people make money with and then they turn around and treat their members (or at least some of them) like crap. I remember when I first joined FG, the ads were minimal, then they added in these huge, animated ads in stripes down the side and across the top of the page. I have a few ads on my alumni site, they're all at the bottom of the page, you have to scroll down to see them. A well-run site can also barter for corporate sponsorship to avoid ads. I'm sure with the bad reputation at FG, that would be out of the question.

i can't even afford the $20 lol how sad is that? i had to borrow money for train fare to the library lol these times stink lol there are some services that are free. Google Talks has always been nice, but apparently they are going to start charging. :\ gotta start looking into free webchat programs lol

I also have a bundle on my internet and my home phone. My cell phone is the senior plan, $39.00 a month, free cell to cell, free nights and weekends and I don't even use all the minutes.

I am out of here, on the way to the Opera, The Met live in HD and plan to go take cemetery photos in a flat cemetery for requestors who got the Sections.

I don't know about Vonage, but Skype is very cheap. I believe it's about 2.3 cents a minute to make calls. You could put $20 on the account and just use it up as you need it.

(and forgot to mention, many people access their internet through local libraries, where it's free to use).

i think we could start a whole book on why cemeteries can be unhelpful lol

Sorry, you are correct Vonage has a charge, I made a mistake.

Just like every Cemetery is different so are all the photo volunteers different!

I am glad that F.A.G. has ads, if they did not they would be $100 (an estimate) per year like Ancestry. Every site has ads.
