Hi Barbara,
Received your messages. I found a bit of marriage information for Minnie Standish and James Thompson on Family Search:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=recordimage...
It just gives their names and a date and place - 19 May 1892, Franklin County, OH. That's as much as I've located though.
I can't remember if I asked you this question (I don't find it looking back through the posts) does the name Louise mean anything to you? The reason I ask is that I have a very old photo of Minnie and a young girl and on the back written in pencil is a notation that appears to read "1872 Minnie and Louise" I can barely make it out because the name is so faded but it does appear to be Louise and that was my grandmother's middle name so I'm wondering if she was given the name after that Louise. There was a Louise Moses, related to Minnie's mother Sarah but she died before 1872 so it wouldn't have been her.
Another note, my grandmother had olive skin and fairly dark features - dark brown eyes and hair, as did my father (his father was of German descent and was quite fair). but viewing photos of Minnie she is not as dark in coloring so I'm inclined to think that James Thompson may have had darker coloring (accounting for the Spanish/Irish thing). Or not, until I can locate more information about him I won't know.
Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Roberta
