This is to let members of this group know about the definitive
GAY DNA Surname study and the strides which are being made there in sorting out lineages of GAYs. So far, only a few possible descendants of John of Dedham or possibly related New England GAYs have tested, but the large number of GAYs descended from the Virginia based lines are already beginning to reap genealogical fruit. I myself am not the administrator of the GAY DNA project. That is the work of my friend and fellow GAY researcher, Lee Gay. Currently and through Thursday, July 31st, there is nice 20% off sale going on through this project, which is under the auspices of FTDNA, the premier genealogical DNA testing company.
The GAY DNA project is worth checking out even if you aren't ready to test now, because it is a place were serious researchers of these families come together and post their lineages, which are correlated with their DNA results.
