Researching the Haley family that settled in Franklin County, Georgia around 1797 or 1798. James Rabun Haley is the progenitor of this family, although it is believed his father was Richard Hailey who was born about 1745 in VA and died about 1825 in Texas. His mother is believed to have been Mary Raybern/Rayburn/Raybun. There is a group of researchers on Yahoo who are trying to sort out this line. It is believed that Richard Hailey was born in VA and moved to NC before moving to GA. He then left GA for TN and later LA and TX. William Haley of Elbert County may be related.
