Hi Wendy,

I found a christening of a Henry John TARBOX on the IGI at www.familysearch.org, at St Leonard's, Shoreditch, London on 10 June 1827, birth 6 April 1827. father William TARBOX, mother Ann. Possibly the same Henry?

Couldn't find him in the 1841 or 1851 censuses either despite trying various possible spellings, eg found a correction for the family name of Tarbox which had been transcribed as "Farbose"! I can't find any other records for Henry TARBOX either.

I did find Ann TARBOX in the 1881 census at 42 Angrave Street, Shoreditch, age 51, widow, laundress, with her daughter Elizabeth, age 19 unmarried, slidebox maker. RG11 Piece 409, Folio 32, Page 12
In 1891 Ann TARBUCKS was living at 41 Fournier Street, Bethnal Green, age 68, place of birth Chelmsford, Essex, widow, matchbox maker. This seems pretty likely to be Ann to me. RG12, piece 256, folio 37, page 8.
On FreeBMD a possible death for Ann Tarbox was registered in Jun 1905, Shoreditch, vol 1c, p55 aged 65.
The elder daughter Marie possible marriage registration Mar 1876, Bethnal green, volume 1c, page 485? And Elizabeth Ann Dec 1882, Bethnal Green, volume 1c, page 765?

I don't if this is of any help at all?

Regards,

Brenda
Me again Wendy,
It seems Elizabeth Ann TARBOX married Robert COLLINS, born c1861, Dunmow, Essex in 1882. In 1891 they were living at 6 Laburnum Street, Shoreditch with five children. RG12, piece 253, folio 43, page 26, but you probably know this already.
And Marie married Frederick Clayton, born c1855, Shoreditch,

Regards again,

Brenda
This Elizabeth is the daughter of Henry Tarbuck and Ann Drover. My Elizabeth Tarbox married Edwin Hodges in 1882 and had no children, I am the great granddaughter of Marie Tarbox and Frederick Clayton
It's confusing both Elizabeth's were about the same age.
Thanks for all your time and effort.
Henry's wife in Ann not Marie sorry for the error

It seems not all of my query made it, here is the remaining.

1861 –Census- according to FHL street index for census Godrey Place is missing, therefore no record of him in the 1861 census.

9 Oct 1860 – Birth of Daughter, Elizabeth – 5 Godfrey’s Place, Bethnal Green, father: Henry Tarbox, mother: Ann Tarbox, formerly French

I’ve not been able to locate Henry in any of these events. I’ve checked on “Find My Past” and “Ancestry.com”
1861 census
1856c Birth of daughter Marie, maybe she was born out of wedlock and never registered?
1855c Marriage of Henry Tarbox and Ann French, have found and followed through the marriage of Henry Tarbuck to Ann Drover and proved this is not mine.
1851 census of Henry Tarrbox
1841 census of Henry Tarbox
1823c Birth of Henry Tarbox
