G'day I am trying to find any information on a Thomas George Edward Mahany (that is the spelling they used) he was born about 1818, his wife was Catherine Gladstone she was born about 1825. The birth years are from their ages on the ships record of emigration. They came from either Ireland somewhere or on the British mainland. According to ships record they had 2 daughters Honoria born 1847 and Sussanah 1849, the "family of 4" sailed in 1850 on the Bussorah Merchant to Australia, a son Thomas George Gladstone Mahany was born on board the ship, but I am not certain the 2 girls were actually their daughters as I can find no record of them in Australia, and it was common practice for large families to send " over the accepted number" children with some one else who posed as their parents.
Thanks to anyone who can help trace my Thomas Mahany. He told his family that he and Catherine were married on the Isle of Mann, but that doesn't seem to be true. .
I am related By YDNA 5-6 steps to O'Mahony's and Sullivan's but just dont know paper trail attachment
