DeSoto County, Mississippi

I am researching the White and Oliver families of the Hernando area of DeSoto County. Col. Thomas W. White was a prominent attorney in Hernando and Col. of the 9th Mississippi. Simeon Oliver was a large plantation owner near Hernando and related to the White family. He is buried in an old family graveyard west of town. Many of my ancestors are buried in the Hernando Cemetery. Would love to talk to anyone who has ties to DeSoto County, especially Hernando Social Life during the mid 1800s.
