JC, Give the National Institute a call and they can assist you. I'm not sure why you are having that problem but they can help you get registered. The number is 1-800-580-0165 .
I've been attempting to subscribe so that I may sign up for courses. It insists on a first and last name. However, the boxes for First Name and Last Name are not there to click on and enter information into. Help, please.
Very good point. Thank you!
J.M Trotter -Regarding NIGS and genealogy education. You need to think what country you live in. Normally you can get a tax break in education for courses taken in the country you live in. So, Canadians might be best with NIGS but those in the USA may be better with some of the programs available in the USA. The UK also has their own genealogy course programs.
Thank you. I will!
Let us know if you have any questions J.M.
I am another one of the Social Media students, nosing around GenealogyWise for the first time. I'm still feeling out NIGS but have enjoyed my experience so far. I'm a trained archivist working as a public librarian and researching in as much of my free time as possible.
Hi everyone
Don't miss the party! See the announcement on the Main Page for the invitation to the NIGS party, should be a lot of fun, so put the date in your diary now!
I am currently taking the Social Media class, as well as one on United Empire Loyalists. I am working on my Canadian Records certificate. I am looking forward to exploring GenealogyWise more extensively!
Great article in Internet Genealogy, Oct/Nov 2011, about NIGS. The article by Gena Phillgert-Ortega is an overview of NIGS and its courses. For those wanting to learn more about NIGS check it out or go to http://internet-genealogy.com/ to subscribe to the magazine.
