Helping to find Noble ancestors from the counties in the Province of Ulster. Six of these make up Northern Ireland (Derry, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Antrim, Down, Armagh) and the other 3 are in the Republic of Ireland (Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan).

Hi John Thomas Noble. I'm very interested in your latest post regarding your John Noble b. 1847/48 somewhere in Fermanagh, as my grandfather was also born there, in 1843 or 1845 in Dromore, Fermanagh. He married June 14, 1864 in Drumkeeran or Ivinestown, Fermanagh to Margaret McCutchen and his father was listed as John Noble. He & Margaret came to Quebec in 1864, and on the 1871 Cdn.census, there was an Edward Noble b.abt 1848 in Ireland, living with Henry and family. Both were Protestant, Henry was C of E and Congregational, while Edward was Methodist. I've never been able to go any further back, nor find out the name of Henry's or Edward's mother. I would love to see if we match at all with DNA, but don't know exactly how to proceed. Would like to hear from you, and can give you my e-mail address if you like, just let me know.
I finally have an update on the search for my GGF John Noble, born (somewhere) in Fermanagh in 1847 or 1848, father unknown, mother named Rose (surname unknown). I am a close match to the proprietor of this forum, and have received other Y-67 matches through FTDNA, ranging from Canada to Australia. None of my Y-67 matches know their point of origin in Fermanagh.
The NLM has started putting Catholic baptisms on line. One of the complexities of my search for John Noble, b. 1847-8 is the fact that he was raised in Connecticut by an adoptive family as a Roman Catholic, when, as we know, most of the Fermanagh Nobles are as Orange as they come.
I recently received through Ancestry a copy of the baptism of Johannes Noble 3 April 1848, Father Johannes Noble, Mother Rosa Maguire, Parish of Enniskillen, Diocese of Clogher. Above the name of the father is a notation "0-14" or possibly "0-IL", which a Facebook contact tells me indicates illegitimacy, although it is in a different hand than the register entry and looks as if it could have been entered after the original entry. The godparents are Thomas and Susanna Corrin.
Anyway, I think that's as close as I'm going to get. Anyone who an comment on the notation "O-IL" or "0-IL", I'd love to hear from you.
Hi Marjorie, I have just emailed your Dad, Bruce Jack. With so many people involved, maybe some of the mysteries will be solved,
Regards,
Suzanne
Thank you Michael, will do......
Suzanne....My cousin Bruce Noble is trying to send you a message but having trouble doing it through Genealogy Wise. Please e-mail him at webnoble1@gmail.com. Thanks.

Bruce Jack has tested to 67 markers, but is still at M269
I just have my brother's Y111 results:
111 markers - 0
67 markers - 1 Bruce Jack Noble @ GD 6
2 Noble ? M269 @ GD 7
37 markers 1 Bruce Jack Noble @ GD 4
25 markers 1 Noble ? M269 @ GD 2
12 markers 21 Nobles @ GD 0
I am surprised that the same two people match at different GD's at different markers.
I sent a message to Bruce Jack Noble which was returned - address unknown.
I am beginning to wonder if there has been what is delicately known as a 'non parental event' !!!!!!
