Have you been able to locate a death certificate for James Franklin? His parents names may be listed there.

Born 1810, Surry County, NC --- married Lucy Chandler 1831 in Hendricks County, IN --- By 1840 they were living in Marion County, Decatur, Twp. Indiana.---- They moved their family to Warren County, Iowa in the mid 1850's. He died in 1877. I cannot find anything on his parents. He is my brick wall. I've also heard that he could have been of Cherokee Indian and that perhaps his father might have been named Daniel? He has really been a hard one for me. Any help will be truly appreciated.

Have info on Renfrow (Renfrew, Renfrews, Renfrow?), Hinnant (Revoluntionary soldier), Felt, Pridgen, Armstrong, Whichard, Tomson (Tomesom?), Barrow or Barnes, Ferrall, Hare, Griffen or Godwin, Lee, Rollins, Williamson, Atkinson, Winbon, Moore, Riggan, Buffalo, Brewer, Walker, Sorsby, Hedgpeth, Lincke, Garris, May, Hugh, Rousch, Pauline, Cropsey, Blount, Doak, Douglas, Rollins, Gilbert, Whichard, Hardy. Greenville, NC, Nashville, NC, Wayne County, Edgecombe County, Johnston County now Wilson County. Family tradition has Renfrow as French, perhaps spelled REINFREAUX. Mny settled in Scotland early 16th centuryA good number of Renfrows settled in Kent, England. From Kent to NC.

I am trying to find the parents of James Randolph, b c 1723, of Caswell Co., NC, and more about him. I also research Hargis, McNair, Huskey, and more of the same era. I am interested in finding out more about the ersey Settlement in Davidson County.
