John Scott, a group member (yay) has a well sourced page on the descendants of Presley Ward Oliphant, for all y'all central TN folk: Tennessee Heritage If I'm not mistaken, Roddy says the TX Oliphints come from this line, and this line originates from the MD Oliphants. Roddy, correct me if I'm confused.

I am related by DNA to Thomas Oliphant West II (1718-1808) 8-3,476 cm I realize that the surname is West but I figured the "Oliphant" is a family name. I know that William Nelson West is my 4th great-grandfather. I am trying to determine if Thomas Oliphant West II is his father. I am just wondering if any of you have ever come across this name in your research as related to your lines?
