I'm looking for information regarding a Great Grandmother of mine. Her name was Elizabeth Rutherford born 21 Aug 1725 in Scotland. She married Roger Dobson in about 1756. She died 10 Dec 1811 in Elsdon Parish, Northumberland, England.

Ezziej. You may be able to make an educated guess as to family in Scotland by looking at the naming pattern Andrew and subsequent generations used. Scottish naming patterns will often help to identify a family that can then be researched in more depth.

According to all that I have found, Betty, Andrew Patterson was born in 1658/1659.The records say 1658 but when I researched in Scotland I found only one Andrew born in the time frame and it was in 1659. But not knowing any of his family there who knows who is right or wrong...

Ezziej, Do you have any idea when he was born? Have you looked on Scotland's People for the birth?

I am interested in finding anyone that can lead me in the direction of family for Andrew Pat(t)erson who was listed as being one of the group of coventators that was sentenced to death, then to USA, and arrived in 1685. Andrew was listed as from Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. I am descended from his direct lineage.

I am primarily interested in descendants of John Jackson (1843-1910) and Mary Gaw (1845-1922). They emigrated from Ireland in the very early 1860's and settled in Girvan, Ayrshire where they raised their family and eventually passed away. While my Grandfather Robert Jackson left for Canada in 1909, it appears at least some of their children settled in the area.

I am also interested in learning of the descendants of Angus Stewart (1843-1892) and Jane McKinven (1843-1893) who lived their lives and raised their family in Campbelltown, Argyll.

My wife and I will be visiting Girvan in September and would appreciate any help identifying descendants in the area.

Thanks Betty Snow, I wondered how he could be a Dr. and so young, these two just slip off my radar (David A S and Thomas M). Been chasing them for over 20 years..... all the best and happy hunting.

I am interested in William Henderson b. 1697 New Deer, Aberdeen, d. Lancaster, PA? and his wife Susanna or Susan Cairns or Kearns b. 1703 Newbatttle, Midlothian, Scotland and d. in Lancaster PA too (possibly).

Regarding your Munro's from Coldingham. Your David Alexander seems to have disappeared from Scotland the same way an Alexander Tait from my family did between the 1881 and 1891. I was unable to find him until I had a contact through Genes Reunited. He had emigrated to Canada maybe this is what your David did. It is interesting that in 1881 he had 2 of his sisters and a brother with him but in 1891 the 2 girls are back with their parents in Coldingham. Thomas is not a DR. that is a mistranscription.
