I am looking for the Scott family from Legerwood. Three Scott brothers went to Tasmania in the early 1800s.

my paternal ancestry (Flemings) come from Mid Calder, West Lothian. I can trace back to the father of the three sons who came to Canada in 1835 (married in St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, in 1825), but no further in spute of lots of family tradition. I can trace his wife, a McGregor, back several more generations. I can get the Flemings forward from marrying into the Bruces in the late 14th c, down to about the mid 16th century, but need to find the links from ther to the late 18th century.

My maiden name is Dunlap. I'm not sure but I think they may have come from Scotland. This is a work in progress for me. Still searching for my Great Grandfather G. MC. Dunlap. I only have a marriage document for him and these are the initials on that document.

I am researching MacLeod, MacKay, Morrison , Jamieson and others from Durness, Sutherland. Also have my mystery Scot - ggrandfather Angus Good, born Scotland (doesn't state where), ended up in Maine prior to 1869, where his son Joseph was born. Also Kneeland of Glasgow and Lanark, and Hamilton from Glasgow.

Just found this site so haven't started to look up the websites listed by Kirsty. Will definitely do so.
I am researching the name of Robertson and Laird, & Simpson. They lived in Scotland in Lanarkshire and Midlothian and W. Midlothian before 1854. They came to U.S. about 1852-1854. I have found some things about them but need more information from Scotland.
