My TUTTY ancestors came from Hertfordshire. Rev. William TUTTY was born in Hertfordshire abt. 1715 to William TUTTY and Gruzzle DREW, who were married 10 Aug 1715 at Saint Benet Paul's Wharf, London, London, England. Rev. William TUTTY was the first Anglican minister in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He arrived in Jun 1749 with governor CORNWALLIS. We are descendant from his brother John George TUTTY who was born abt 1717 in Hertfordshire. John George married Elizabeth BLAKELY. There is some discrepancy as to whether or not John George and Elizabeth came to Canada and whether or not their son Jonathon was born abt 1752 in Leeds or in Canada.
The Rev. William TUTTY was also a Third Fellow or Usher at Dulwich College from 02 Feb 1740-1 to 18 May 1744.
The Rev William TUTTY returned to England in 1752 and married a widow Catherine HOLLOWS/HALLOWS 03 Jan 1753, All Saints and Saint John, Hertford, Hertfordshire, England. They had a duaghter Martha Ann b. Nov 1753 and the Rev died a year later 24 Nov 1754 and is buried in the churchyard of All Saints. I don't know of any other siblings of the Rev. , but there was a Rev. Philip TUTTY around at the same time, but I don't know of any relation to him.

My Tutty's came from Liverpool UK, I am trying to find information on his grandather (my GG Grandfather), who moved to Liverpool from Ireland in the early 1800's. I believe he was married to a Mollie O Donovan but am not certain

My Grandmother was a TUTTY. Her father (my greatgrandfather), Mathias TUTTY, when he was living, was know as 'the oldest living miner' in the Miner's Museum in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. Mathias died in 1976 at the age of 96.
