I have hit a brick wall with Mehetable Moore born 1790 in Waterboro, New Brunswick, Canada. She married Richard Stilwell son of John Daniel Stilwell & Sarah Kiblar. I don.t seem to come accros any other info on her.

Listed in the book "The Story of the Great Fire in St:John.N.B." - (in 1877) by George Stewart   "Under The Property Owners" persons whose properties were destroyed. A number of them have the name Moore.

I am searching for James S. Moore, who lived at some in the early 1800's in Morgan. then Wolfe County Kentucky. He married a Nancy McClain, and had several children, (I know this through family sources) although I cannot locate him in any Census records. Nancy appears with the children, but the elusive mr. moore is absent. Later in Census records for Wolfe County, she claims herself to be a widow. Any help I can get in finding information with James S. Jones, and his family members would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have found some new info on James Silas Moore b 1800, Kentucky.

I believe he married a Frances Herndon Cinnamon, in Shelby County, KY and went to Clay County, Missouri. He then traveled back to Kentucky, between 1850 and 1860, married and had children with Nancy McClain, left her, along with his son Henry, and went back to Clay County, Missouri. Where he died sometime between 1860 and 1870. Can anyone identify this James Silas Moore, now that I have found more information? Thanks, Tammy Jones

I started making a family tree in December, and was hooked within days, I still haven't done much on my family, trying to connect all of the dots on his ancestors. Have you been searching long?

I did some looking after I heard from you, and the only William Rose I found was married, and much older than Eliza. Do you know anything about him?

I am looking for any information on John Moore and his wife Margaret McCullough. He was born around 1806 in the western part of Pennsylvania. Margaret was born in 1808 in western Pennsylvania also.

I have just joined this site, so it may take a awhile before I learn how to use it. I am researching my daughter's paternal great-grandfather, John Moore of Morgan and Wolfe Co, KY. I knew his mother was Nancy, but until I saw your posts here, couldn't get any further. Now, I have traced James S Moore. I did find him on the census in Clay Co, MO. He married Frances Herndon, before he married Nancy (McClain.) He had children by both women and I am now sorting out the children. He married Frances in Shelby Co, KY. came from. If you have any further luck, please let me know, He was married before his marriage(s) to Francis and Nancy. Two if his daughters married the same Cinnamond, and Francis was the widow of Marcus Cinnamond.

My daughter's father is Jimmie Moore, son of Dewey, son of John. On the 1860 census, Morgan Co, KY, John is 6. (And I have not exactly proven this is her line; but I believe it is.) Nancy is 38, Henry 15, Cynthia 13, Mary 10, Eliza 8, Anna 3, Emily 1. At Family Search, Eliza and Anna's parents given as James Moore and Nancy McClain. I then traced Nancy; she is with her grand-parents, John and Elizabeth Sexton in 1850 Morgan Co. Nancy 28, Melvina 6 (this might be Cynthia), Mary 1. She may have had those daughters out-of-wedlock, then had the other children by James Moore, and Henry 15 of the 1860 census is probably James' son who is with her. 1860 Galatin, Clay Co, MO; James Moore 60 b. KY Zachariah 11 b. MO, Hariet Herndon 47 b. KY, William 12 b. MO. Could this Hariet be Frances Herndon? He obviously had two families going in KY and MO. 1850 Liberty, Clay Co, M); James S Moore 50 b. KY, Francis 43 b. VA, James W 11 b. MO, John W 8 b. MO, Henry C 6 b. MO, Zachery 2 b. KY.

I descend from Anthony Moore and his wife Zilphia/Zilpha/Zilpah Haines. I'm learning a lot about my Richard Haines ancestry on this website and through other books and records, but I know little about my Moores, other than that they may have come from Ticehurst, Sussex, England to Virginia and were at one time Quakers in Frederick, VA. Anthony's father seems to have been David Moore whose father was William Moore. I descend from Anthony and Zilphia's son David and his wife Margaret Sherman of Blount County, TN. Anybody connected?

I descend from Matt Moore and Winnie (Carter) Moore.  They were from Whitley Co., Kentucky. Matt's Dad was William H. Moore, his Mom was Francis J. Davis.  Winnie's Dad was William Roland Carter, her Mom was Mary Elizabeth Bray.  If anyone knows anything about this family, please let me know.  There are alot of Moore's out there from kentucky...I realize this now since I started this group, yet I have yet to find anyone with the same line.  Good Luck on all your searches, and Thanks for joining the group.

Thanks. Sorry I don't have those names you mention in my files. I have another "Mystery Moore" named John Moore who is either from Kentucky or ?Tennessee? and married into my Sumner family, but I know little about him. He just seems to be a different Moore than the VA Moores I have.

Yes, we are from Wolfe County, KY. I would love to see your photos. My daughter's paternal grandparents were Dewey Moore and Bonnie Dunn. Dewey lived to be 100 years-old.

I am looking for the parents of Mehitabel Moore b 1790 in Waterborough, Queens co., NB Canada she married there in 1807 Richard Stilwell b 1787 also born there and they also died there

I have checked all of Queens co, and other counties to no avail and I can't even find a Moore in that area and I do know they are there because my Aunt Annie Stilwell Moore used to visit us in Massachusetts and she was from NB and moved to Maine. I don't know ho the Moore was but she did have a son Burt born in NB

I am going to see if I can find Aunt Annie Moore's husband.

Once again I searched all of the counties in NB and found the Moor, Mooer, Moore's in York Co. 

One of these could be Mehitabel Moore's father.

I have found that Mehitabel could use a nickname Hetty, Hitty, Belle or Bella

But I still have found nothing.

I did find a Hitty R. Moore b 29 Aug 1793 in Penobscot, Hancock co., Maine d/o Daniel Moore St. 1768-1827 and Bethiah Webb 1769-1860 also in Maine

And found a lot of Moor, Mooer, Moores coming from Ireland to NB

My gaunt Annie Edith Stilwell Moore married David A Moore born Queensbury, N B s/o John Moore b Ireland and McNutty .

David could also be the s/o George Moore b in NB and Mary Armstrong she b Ireland.

One or the other was in Kings American Dragoons 1782

There is also a Moore in Londonderry, NY 1785 went to Long Reach, Saint John, NB
