Hello Margaret Ann, yes I rsearch Tippah County---mostly the Ripley area. I am focusing on the Youngs and Barrs from Tippah. What are your family ties? I also have an ancestor who worked for the Falkners.

    Hi Margaret Ann,
Thanks for joining our genealogy charts group. We're having a contest over at the Generation Maps group if you are interested.

I have done some research on the EDGE surname as it is my maiden name. My grandfather was in Hemptead Co., AR for a time as he married my grandmother in Hope. His name is Harvey Dolphus Edge, son of James Edge and Martha Elizabeth Wyatt. I would be interested to know if you are related.

Hi, I noticed you have Rogers in Tennessee. My gg grandmother, Blanche Rogers, was born in Tennessee (according to her grave marker) and married in White Co., Tennessee. Wonder if we might be connected?

Thank you for replying. I also have Asa Henry Edge in my database. You were able to fill in a couple of spots. I have a daughter named Mary Jane born Sept. 1855 died 1900. But, all in all, we are not related.
  • Ethel Marie Silcock

That's cool. I was unable to connect this line with my line, but I added a lot of Edges to my database while researching my line, just to see if they would connect somewhere.

Hi,, thanks for the message. I've tried sending you a message but there seems a problem with the server.

My Tulls originated in Hampshire, England and my branch has stayed in the British Isles. Whether any travelled to the Colonies(!) I have not information.

    Best wishes,

    Geoff

I have tired to connect my Huggins line to the Huggins that were in north McNairy County very early. There is a deed about the heirs of a Luke Huggins ?, I think. We discussed it many years ago. Others have tried to connect. I think we are connected but just how, I don't know. My Phillip Huggins had a son named Luke, so I feel that he had a brother named Luke?

As for the Wardlaw. I don't think that is mine. Our Wardlow bunch came from Rockingham, North Carolina. I don't have all my Wardlow info on computer so don't know exactley where I stand.

As for the Hooker/James relationship. That is part of of the Thomas Benton Hooker line who followed my Samuel Hooker to McNairy County. that is a direct line of my tenth cousin Lynn James. I have quite a bit on this Hooker line. Lynn has more on the James line.

I am going to Hardeman County Historical Society Meetin Tuesday night. Do you want to go. Nancy

I read that you are related to BOWMAN and HITE. Me too, from Jost HITE thru his daughter Mary HITE who married George BOWMAN. Will you be attending the HITE Family Reunion in late July? I'm going. Diana
  • Diana L. Carlson

Margaretann, to answer your question about the HITE reunion. First off, I've never been to one of those HITE reunions, when I was a kid, we used to always go to the SEDAM family reunions, those were fun. But back to the HITE family reunion, the information is available on the website http://hiteassociation.org where there is lots of information available; it says they have a HITE family reunion once every 3 years at the Belle Grove Plantation. My second cousin just recently did some genealogy work in the Shenandoah area, but then he had to return to California and told me he couldn't go, can I go instead? So I'm going. My husband is looking forward to going thru some of the American Revolutionary sites and tours. Should be fun. I've never been to the Shenandoah Valley area before, except thru it on the Interstate, so this will be a first for me. Diana

Hi Margaret--YES--Glad you want to be friends! I saw your name on the lists the other day but wanted to check with Julia Mills to remind me how you two were related since she's the one who "introduced" US. AND, yes, we're related through Will and Pennywitt. John Pennywitt and Susan Wills were my 3g-grandparents--down through Mary Ann Pennywitt/Frederick Huffman; James William Huffman/Susana Swartz; Sarah Catherine Huffman/William Bennett Conner; Walter Ross Conner/Arlene Noyes; and then me. This is my first attempt at a social networking site and I'm still trying to feel my way around! Already learned my Huffman line in back of Frederick is WRONG! It's still fun--particularly to talk with others I've met before! Glad Julia's on the site too! Happy researching--til later. Darlene
