Does your Helton family come from Monroe County Al. and have a Graham connection. I've got a Graham there that married a Helton.

I've got Mariam Graham married to William Helton in Monroe County Al in 1870 with the following children:

Benjamin, Elizabeth, Callie, Texanna, Comfort, Eugenia, Lorena

Her parents were Joseph and Comfort Graham and her brother is my direct ancestor. The Graham line is mine, the Helton is a collateral line.

    Judy -
I saw your comment that you could do a look-up in Warren Co., Tennessee. Could you please look in your sources for John Pigg, born 1823-1827, TN. He was living in McMinnville in the 1850 census with wife Ethalinda, and two daughters, Mary and Sirena. I cannot find his wife's maiden name. I am unsure of his parents, said to be Claiborn Pigg and Lucinda Womack. Anything you can find is OK. I have found some of the tax lists. John Pigg never filled out any papers the same way, or he simply did not complete them. This seems to be my direct line of descent.
You can leave me a message at my page.
    Thank you,
    Rosemary

Thank you. The 1850 census in Warren TN, John and Ethalinda, and the 1860 census Pemiscott, I have. I was really hoping there was something I had missed in Warren Co., TN on these people.

The Claiborn Pigg I am looking for was born c 1790s, NC. This other Claiborn is too old, but interesting.
Thanks so much for your help.

The Helton line that connected with my Graham line was in Monroe Co., AL.

    Hello Judy,
Thank you for doing a search for Ethalinda (unknown) Pigg.

I initiated a PIGG group. Would you please post this information there.

I have a question. I have information that John and Ethalinda were in Warren, not Hardin County, Tennessee in 1850. I am concerned about this.
    Your search for Ethalinda yielded:
1850 Census District 9 Hardin Co., TN Page 9 Ancestry.com
    Dwelling No. 58
    Family No. 58
John Pigg 21 abt. 1829 Male TN
Ethalinda Pigg 21 abt. 1829 Female TN
    Mary S. E. Pigg 4 abt. 1846 Female AL
Larena Pigg 7 abt. 1843 Female AL

    1860 Township 20 Range 13, Pemiscot Co., MO Page 3 Ancestry.com
    Dwelling No. 421
    Family No. 416
John Pigg 30 abt. 1830 Male TN
Etha Pigg 28 abt. 1832 Female TN
Slirena Pigg 10 abt. 1850 Female AL
William Pigg 8 abt. 1852 Male IL
James Pigg 2 abt. 1858 MO

The people above are the ones I am researching. Can you recheck to see which county please?

    thank you.

I think sometimes they are working on the site and messages do not go through. Please try again. I am trying to work on this line again, and need all the help I can get!
    Thanks

Judy _ I *think* if you look to the right under your name it says "friends". Try that and see if you can confirm there. :)

My line from John William Helton goes like this:

John William Helton m. Rosa Inez Helton....to them was born my Grandmother, Rosa Edith Helton m. Willie Dee Smith. To Edith & W.D. was born my Mother, Mary Edith (Edie) Smith. :) My birthfather was Frederick V. Brown but I was adopted and my father is Andrew P. Connelly. My husband, Trevor and I have 8 children...some birthed, one adopted from foster care and two were given to us by a stranger in a Wendy's parking lot. Talk about a DIVERSE branch of the Helton tree...we are definately it! ;)

Maskle Wilson and Dewey Helton were my dad's parents. I can get more info for you.

Hello Judy -- I read one of your posts about having ancestors in the Grenville-Leeds area of Ontario. Just wondering if any of your ancestors connected with any Lee, Clow or Palmer lines. My ancestors ended up in the Leeds area about 1801 and after the third generation part of them headed to Minnesota about 1850. Looking forward to a reply. Have a great day! Sandra Johnson.
  • Renita Nunley-Ruiz

    Hi Judy,
I am also interested in the Nunley family. My line comes from Prince Edward/Prince George County Virginia and then into KY and Ohio. How are you related?
  • Joshua Shane Wilson

    Hi Judy,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I have sent endless messages to members of other websites and it seems none of them visit the sites anymore. As a matter of fact, I do know where Maskle & Dewey are burried. I have a photo of the headstone, and my grandfather is supposed to send me photos of Mr. & Mrs. Wilson. If you would like, I can e-mail the photo to you. I don't believe I have very much information on the Parsons but anything I do have, you are more than welcome to have it. I have only been researching my family for a short time, but since the recent passing of my grandmother Carolyn S. (Holt) Wilson, I found old documents in her belongings that have helped alot.

If there is anything I can do to help you, I would be more than willing to take photos at cemeteries, find death records, etc. Once again, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Good luck with your research.
