My Rogers family were in Mold in 1803 when my 2nd great-grandfather, Edward Rogers, was born. I am a little puzzled when you say that it was only your great grandfather, though. Edward was the son of Edward Rogers and Jane Bellis.
I think that I would have to go the the Records Office in Wrexham for further checks on this family.
