My 5th great grandfather, (paternal,) (Major) Samuel EARLE, I built this Episcopal Church called Yeocomico Church on his plantation. It is where the EARLE, BALL, and WASHINGTON families attended church. (Major) Samuel EARLE, III was the first Member of the House of Burgesses to be elected from Frederick County, Virginia holding the seat that would later be held by family friend (General) George WASHINGTON who would later be President. George's father, Augustine WASHINGTON, ownled land adjoining land owned by (Major) Samuel EARLE, III. I descend from Samuel EARLE, III and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth HOLBROOK, through their son, Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS,) (2nd son of his name,) who married Tabitha WILLIAMS whose WILLIAMS lineage, I believe, is connected to George WASHINGTON's WILLIAMS family group. She was out of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia and the EARLE family was first in Northumberland County, Virginia that became Westmoreland County in Cople Parish and then in Frederick County and Fauquier County. (Major) Samuel EARLE, III was 1st married to Anna SORRELL and they also had a son named Samuel EARLE, IV, born in 1727 who died in 1752. My Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS,) (2nd son of his name,) was born in January 1760 at Town Run, Fauquier County, Virginia. I descend through his daughter, Kitty EARLE, who married Bailey JENNINGS, who descends from immigrant, John JENNINGS, Sr. & wife, Margaret PAYNE, (d/o John PAYNE,) in mid-1600's Old Rappahannock County, Virginia through ROBINSON, WILLOUGHBY, KELLY, DONIPHAN, NORTON, MOORE, and JORDAN families.
